Sautéed Portabella Mushrooms


  • 3 to 4 fresh garlic cloves, smashed and chopped
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Portabella mushrooms – I use sliced or whole
  • Salt and pepper
  • Red pepper flakes


Smash the whole garlic cloves with the side of a large knife or cleaver and chop a bit.

Sauté the garlic in a little olive oil for a few minutes, until it just begins to brown.

Add the mushrooms and continue to sauté.

Season with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes to taste.
