With summer coming to a close and school back in session, albeit under unique circumstances, it is time to revamp our daily routines. There is no better time to start a new regimen that prioritizes self-care than right now! While the new “normal” is not what we expected, there are ways to make positive lifestyle changes while transitioning into the fall season.

Start small

Summer 2020 looked a lot different than last year, but that doesn’t mean our fall routines have to take a hit. Getting back into the school-year-groove is always difficult, but taking baby steps can help tackle the new challenges we face this season.

Identify a few key routines to start with, such as acclimating to the kids’ new school schedules and creating a consistent bedtime and wake up time for all of you. Put the other minor routines on hold until the most important ones become embedded.

Renew commitments and set goals

When creating a new routine, we need to fully commit to our goals. Start by setting small milestones, like going for a daily 30-minute walk or pre-planning meals for the week. Once renewing commitments and setting goals, it’s just a matter of carrying them out.

Don’t shortchange yourself

Don’t cut yourself short while adjusting to these new challenges. Let’s be real, 2020 has been a rollercoaster of a year, and new challenges arise every day. Each of us has the power to control what we think and who we are becoming. This is when self-care comes into the picture.

Self-care is essential

It’s easy to let self-care fall by the wayside amid the hustle and bustle of work, children, social activities, and all of the other aspects of daily life. Regardless of this, we must set time aside for ourselves every day. Even if it’s just 30 minutes of ME time, that is 30 minutes that you can focus on making positive changes.

Self-care looks different for everyone, whether that means reading a book, going for a leisurely walk, meditating and practicing yoga, journaling, or taking online classes. Make self-care a time to decompress, better yourself and improve your life.

Getting back on daily supplements is also a way to kick-start self-care routines by helping to maintain the health of mind, body, and soul. Here are some of our favorite vitamins and minerals you should incorporate into your daily routine:
