School is Back in Session! It’s Time to Get Back to Your Weight Loss & Wellness Routine!

Summer vacations are behind us and it’s time to get back to our regular schedules – so now is your time to lose weight and get back on track towards your weight loss goals!

It is easy to let your weight loss routine slip with the fun and sun of the summer…

…but now that school is back in session it is a great time to focus back on what really matters: YOU, your health, wellness, how you feel and look.

When the kids are home you tend to sleep in, cook bigger breakfasts, indulge in unhealthier snacking and generally kick-back. Even if you work during the summer, when you don’t have to get the kids to the bus stop at 7 a.m. you probably use that extra half hour to sleep in, losing time from your usual weight loss routine that otherwise may have been spent preparing a healthier breakfast and packing a healthy lunch and in-between-meal snacks – as a result you find yourself going hungry and giving in to cravings, or making unhealthy fast food choices on the go.

The bottom line is, it’s not uncommon to lose track of your regular weight loss and wellness routine during the summer…

If you’re a stay-at-home mom it may be hard to get to the gym or manage your meal plan. If you’re a working mom or dad you may find yourself torn during the summer – spending time that you would typically dedicate to meal planning or exercise making summer memories with your children (and rightfully so). How many times did an evening trip to the beach end up with an ice cream cone? Perhaps you took an epic summer road trip; a weight loss disaster waiting to happen.

You’ve Got to Live It™….

If your weight is up, that’s symptomatic of NOT taking the time to plan and focus on what’s really important. If you don’t make yourself a priority, then how can you ensure that you will remain available to your family, friends as well as your job? Don’t get down on yourself though, just re-affirm your commitment to “Live It!” and make plans to better incorporate your healthy living and weight loss routine into next summer’s activities. If you haven’t seen us lately, please schedule an appointment today. I assure you, you will not regret it!

It’s best to be proactive and not reactive if you’ve strayed from your weight loss routine and the situation has gotten extreme. Remember that weight gain is a symptom of other things going awry; it is not the problem itself. In the case of summer break, people managing a family with children are at a high risk – the weight gain often accompanies adverse behavioral and health shifts, many of which are avoidable! If you haven’t seen us lately, please schedule an appointment today. I assure you, you will not regret it!
